The Alward Government says it
will be making changes to the Pharmacy Act to allow pharmacists to prescribe
medications for minor ailments.
Provincial Health Minister Ted
Flemming says pharmacists probably know more about drugs and their effects than
other health care professionals.

Flemming points out they have a
four year post graduate degree in pharmacology which is the study of drugs and
their effects so they do a lot more than just count pills and put them in
bottles.
