We've got a solid foundation under our feet to deal with the tough economic times--- so says Veterans Affairs Minister Greg Thompson who believes the province will be near the lead in escaping the troubled economy:

 Thompson says an action plan is in place to address our economic woes--- He blames other countries for bringing the economic woes we face today upon us.

New Rules for Provincial Drivers

Young and new drivers around the Province will have a new set of rules as of June.1st. Anyone under the age of 21 will be required to maintain a zero per cent blood alcohol level when driving. This includes drivers of cars, motorcycle and commercial vehicles. This new rule applies to residents and visitors, those who have just received their license, and anyone who has been driving for two or three years.

A Warm Day Around the Region

Plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures for all to enjoy in this Province and Nova Scotia yesterday and for some, heat coming from the sun we normall don't feel until July. Many records were set including at the Fredericton Airport which hit 29.6. The Moncton Airport topped off 28.2. St. Leonard came in at 22.8 and Charlo 22.5 .

Here in St. Stephen posted a high of 31.7 ,Saint John.....18.3 was the high but not a record and Gagetown came roaring in at 29.8.
