Wood and Wardrobe Fire Update

The Wood and Wardrobe Store will be returning to their former location at 6 king street in St. Stephen. That from Manager Tammy Parks of the St Croix Volunteer Center & Wood and Wardrobe. Cleanup has now begun at the The wood and wardrobe which was gutted by fire back on May 23rd.

The center is still waiting on Insurance although there will not be enough insurance money to complete all repairs. Fundraiser are being planed as well as the Center is in the process of getting their Charitable Status.

Parks tells Tide News they are focusing on the downstairs store front area that will allow them to reopen at their former location

"Go Riding" TV Show Is In Province

The "Go Riding" TV show and magazine are touring ATV trails in the Province starting today in Moncton.

The tour with the Province's A-T-V Federation also includes stop in Sussex this week and in Fredericton.

Jacques Poirier of the A-T-V Federation says in 2005, a national survey found the A-T-V industry in the Province brings in 50 million dollars a year.

Twinning OF The Highway From Waweig to Lepreau

A sod turning event was held this morning for the twinning of the Number one Highway with Transportation Minister Denis Landry, New Brunswick Southwest MP Greg Thompson and and the project manager, for Dexter Construction participated in a groundbreaking ceremony in St. George along with MLA for Charlotte The Isles Rick Doucet

Doucet tells Tide News this has been a long time in the making and this is the single largest highway project that the Province has seen and probably will ever see. It will be great for business and tourism

Doucet say people whom are looking for places to live will find it allot easier from the outside area that may want to move to places along the coast. Estimated time of completion for this project is 41 months to date.

This new infrastructure between Waweig and Lepreau, along with other major upgrades will help create 900 new jobs.
