Storm Conditions Cause Power Outages

Police are cautioning motorists to be a little more careful  on the way home this afternoon.

The wind and rain combined with the falling leaves are making for some slick driving conditions.

RCMP say the possibility of hydroplaning is high with the water on the road and around town some storm drains have become clogged with leaves causing water to build up.

NB Power crews crews have been busy trying to restore  Power to Tower Hill, Saint Andrews, Blacks Harbour and Pennfield. They do tell us they expected to have power restored by later tonight.

Great Canadian Dollar Store Opens For Business

The newest store in St. Stephen opened it's door this morning at 9 AM. The Great Canadian Dollar store has moved into the Old NB Liquor location beside the St. Stephen Superstore.

This morning locals braved the wet and windy weather as they lined up outside to to be the first thru the doors.

The store will operate from 9 Am to 9 PM Monday to Friday, Saturday store hours will be 9 to 5.


Rainfall warning for St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County

Periods of rain at times heavy will give in between 50 and 75 millimetres today and Saturday.

An intensifying low pressure system south of New England will stall over the gulf of Maine later today.

Rain at times heavy will begin over Southwestern New Brunswick later this morning then spread northeastward across the province during the day.

Rain will ease off for a time this evening then redevelop overnight and persist over Southwestern New Brunswick on Saturday.

Total rainfall amounts of between 50 and 75 millimetres is possible for Extreme Southwestern New Brunswick.
