A 13 year old missing persons case is being re-opened by RCMP

The body of ""John Doe"" has been exhumed from a cemetery on Prince Edward Island.  It was 13 years ago today, the body was found by a local fisherman in Malpeque Bay.

The man was never identified and his cause of death was a possible drowning.

Officers believe with new technology, there is a good chance to figure out who this man is and determine the exact cause of death.

RCMP say it is possible the body may have washed in to shore with the tides and he could be from the northern half of the Province, Magdalen Islands or even Quebec.

The man weighed 181 pounds and was five eleven.































Truck Destroyed by Fire

A fire has destroyed a truck earlier today after it had become stuck on a dirt road in Musquash.

There were no injuries.

Free Park Admission

Over 750,000 people visit our 10 provincial parks every year. To honour Tourism Week, admission to all provincial parks will be free this Saturday, June 12.

In recognition of their 75th anniversary, the Department of Tourism and Parks has also frozen camping and entry fees at all provincial parks.

The 10 provincial offering a variety of activities including camping, hiking and swimming.

RCMP seize marijuana in Harvey

A man and a women are expected in court after RCMP seized marijuana, cash and a stolen firearms at a house in Harvey. The two in their 30's have been released from police custody.

People's Alliance set to file for official status

The People's Alliance of New Brunswick is says it will file for official party status this week. PANB leader Kris Austin will be at the Elections New Brunswick office on Wednesday.
PANB has exceeded the requirement of having 10 riding associations to achieve official party status.

Nomination meetings will be held in various ridings in the coming weeks as well as the search for individuals to start other riding associations.

Water Safety Week

It's Water Safety Week and the Red Cross is putting out the word more care and caution needs to happen with activities involving water play or sports. There have been 15 drownings in Atlantic Canada so far this year so a strong emphasis also needs to be put on reminding everyone to put on a life jacket. Atlantic Canada averages roughly 25 drownings every year and there has already had more than half that many before the peak swimming and boating season.
