Energy Conference Begins Tomorrow

The heavy hitters of the energy world are converging on Saint John for the next three days. The Provincial Energy Department and the Energy and Utilities Board welcome policy and regulatory makers from across North America to discuss what the future holds. Energy Minister Jack Keir tells says they are expecting a good crowd.

Some of the featured speakers include the Executive Vice-President of Enbridge Gas, the President of Repsol Energy Phillip Ribbeck and Premier Shawn Graham. Minister Keir will open the conference with a few words to the delegates tomorrow morning at the Delta.

It's election day in Blacks Harbour tomorrow to fill the vacant council seat.
Eleanor Greenlaw and Wayne Thompson are going up against each other to fill the empty spot left after Fred Murray resigned.
Residents can vote at the Brunswick Curling Club between 10 am and 8 pm.

The Town of St Andrews wants to remind residents that they will be picking up leaves and garden brush on a continuous basis until June 1st. The Town will not pick up leaves or garden brush after this date so it will be the and it responsibility of the property owner to place
all waste at the curbside for the regular Thursday
collection. Leaves in clear bags will be composted.

 Guidelines for Students to travel for school activities are followed says Superintendent of District Ten.With on going testimony about the accident in Bathurst January 2008,Keith Pierce tells Tide news there is constant communications between the school and there office.

 Pierce says they is constant communications between the school and there office .They have canceled trips in the past because of roads conditions. He says they are very vigilant in making sure the conditions are safe for students to travel.
