Further contracts awarded for highway maintenance facility

The New Department of Transportation Maintenance Facility in St. Stephen is one step closer to reality today as the Provincial Government has awarded about $4.7 million in contracts fro the completion of phase 2 and 3.

This state-of-the-art, 12-bay building will house the vehicle repair, carpentry and signage operations as well as the highway maintenance division in the region.

The St. Stephen highway division is responsible for more than 400 km of roads and the repair facility is responsible for a fleet of 120 vehicles.

The announcement was made this morning by Premier Shawn along with accompanied by Supply and Services Minister Ed Doherty, Transportation Minister Denis Landry and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet.

Premier in St. Stephen

The Premier and three of his cabinet ministers will be in the Bordertown this morning.


Shawn Graham along with Supply and Services Minister Ed Doherty, Transportation Minister Denis Landry and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet will be in St. Stephen for an infrastructure announcement.

The details will be unveiled at 10 this morning on Church Street in St. Stephen.
