National Immunization Week in Canada

No time like the present to get to a doctor and catch up on your vaccinations. This week Regional Health Authority B is promoting National Immunization Awareness Week and is suggesting families get their shots. Swine Flu Being Closely Monitored in NB

Provincial public health officials say there haven't been any confirmed cases of the swine flue reported. But the province's chief medical health officer says they are closely monitoring the situation here. Public health is asking if you are sick enough to see your doctor and have just returned from Mexico or the southwestern U-S to make sure you let your doctor know. And as always -- washing your hands frequently - covering your face when coughing or sneezing - and - staying home when ill will help reduce the spread of most viruses including the swine flu.


Saint John River Reaching Flood Level in Some Areas

Riverside residents are keeping an eye to the sky and the water this weekend. Provincial emergency measures organization officials are predicting river waters will be at - or - very near flood stage in our area by tomorrow. So far - the Saint John River has spilled over its banks slightly in the Fredericton area -- but -- the water level in the capital city area is expected to begin dropping tomorrow. The good news is Environment Canada says there isn't any heavy rain in the forecast over the next couple of days.
