Kidney Dialysis Machine Wanted At Charlotte County Hospital

 A Kidney Dialysis machine is up  for discussion among residents in St Stephen.The Premier was in St Stephen Tuesday and residents approached him about their concern that Charlotte County hospital does not provide a Kidney Dialysis machine.

In the meantime Spokeperson for the Premier tells tide news they didn’t have the budget flexibility this year but the Department of Health has it on their priority list and is working with the Regional Health Authority to move on it in the future.Citizens in Charlotte County have to commute back and forth to Saint John.


Don Messer 100th Anniversary

Minister of Veteran’s Affairs Greg Thompson and Fredericton MLA and Minister of Business New Brunswick Greg Byrne will take part in ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Don Messer today at the giant fiddle in Harvey Station.   
Canada’s most famous fiddler, Don Messer was born and raised in Tweedside, just outside Harvey Station, and went on to have a lengthy musical career which included the long-running television series Don Messer’s Jubilee.
The official ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m.   at the giant fiddle on Route 3 in the village.


 

Warning From RCMP

The RCMP are warning students to take extra precautions during end of school year celebrations.
More parties means more potential for drug use, and the RCMP say what people may be buying as ecstasy could also contain methamphetamine.
Sgt. MaryAnn MacNeil tells CHSJ News, drug seizures of meth in the province are on the rise, and in a number of cases what people are buying as ecstasy is in fact primarily meth.

MacNeil says both ecstasy and meth are dangerous, but meth is extremely addictive.
MacNeil says they are taking a multi-prong approach to the issue by trying to raise awarness, and cracking down on people who sell the precursor ingredients to these synthetic drugs.


School Traveling Guidelines

 Guidelines for Students to travel for school activities are followed says Superintendent of District Ten.With on going testimony about the accident in Bathurst January 2008,Keith Pierce tells Tide news there is constant communications between the school and their office.

 Pierce says they is constant communications between the school and there office .They have canceled trips in the past because of roads conditions. He says they are very vigilant in making sure the conditions are safe for students to travel.
