Travelers Using Saint John Airport

 Some significant progress is being made in the battle to have Saint Johners fly out of the local airport -- airport president Bernie LeBlanc says shrinkage to other airports has been reduced by 50-percent over the past two years.
 And LeBlanc tells us it's no easy task with 5-airports within a four hour drive of the city.

LeBlanc says the latest stats show 65-percent of the passengers through our airport are travelling to Canadian destinations -- 25-percent are headed state side -- and -- ten percent are travelling to international destinations.

Energy Minister Jack Keir, like most of us is watching as the price for crude oil, slowly, but surely continues to climb. We still have a long way to go before we return to $1.40 for a litre of self-serve like last summer but many wonder how much longer? Keir tells CHSJ News, crude climbing back up means the economy is on the rebound.

Keir says he wants to see the economy booming again for several reasons and one is so revenues can return to where they were so budgets don't have to be cut.
