Barn And Garage Destroyed By Fire

Fire officials say a barn and garage have been destroyed by fire. The fire started in the garage of 538 Mohannes Road last night around six o'clock and spread to a nearby barn, which was attached to the house. The garage and barn were destroyed in the blaze but officials say the house was not damaged. Fire crews from St Stephen, Calais, West Charlotte, and Oak Bay were on the scene to contain the blaze. No one was hurt

H1N1 Clinics

The Horizon Health Network has announced that six H1N1 vaccination clinics scheduled for tomorrow are being postponed.


They are the clinics at Back Bay and Hammond River Elementary schools along with Lawrence Station.

Also included are clinics Tuesday at Quispamsis, Champlain Heights and St. Rose Elementary schools. This is due to a shortage of vaccine.

Campobello Residents Want Other Transportation To The Island

Campobello residents are not backing down when it comes to having a ferry year round. Spokesperson on the Ferry Committee Katheline Case tells tide news bringing goods and services to the Island has its challenges when crossing the US border.


Case says a ferry will be the best option. She says they are hoping to meet with both levels of government to assist with funding to have full time transportation to the Island other then the border crossing.

Transportation On A Stand Still

Meanwhile Minister of Veterans affairs Greg Thompson says they have not ignored the fact Campobello needs a full time ferry but they have to look at all options.



Thompson says in the mean time they will continue to work with Americans officials on moving goods and services. He says no commitment has been made by any level of goverment at this time.
