A fire at The St. Stephen Sports center yesterday could have been a lot worse... Owner Joey Moffatt says he not sure how the fire got started in the back of the building but customers have been in the store and notice the smoke out back but assumed in was the residents in the sub division burning grass... it wasn't till Cathy Moffatt noticed a haze inside the sports center before her husband went out to find the source only to find the back on the build already engulfed in flames. Offsite tells tide news they used 6 fire refinisher to deter the fire from spreading more until the St. Stephen and Moores Mills fire department were on hand. The Oak Bay fire Department was on stand by and fire fighters put out the flames. Offsite says he's lucky it could have been a lot worse. An Attendant at The St. Stephen Fire Department says the fire is no under investigation.
