The "mean girls" stereotype isn't as true as you might think.
According
to new research, boys are more likely to report being instigators of
mean or cruel online behaviour, while girls are more likely to have mean
things said about them.
37 percent of young people surveyed
reported that someone has done something cruel to them online that made
them feel badly and 11 percent of students called it a serious problem.
While
boys were just as likely to spread online rumours as girls. girls were
more likely than boys to post an embarrassing photo or video.
