As
ice-fishing enthusiasts get ready to retire their ice shacks until next
year, the President of the Renforth Fishing Association giving this
season a thumbs up.
Gary
Gower tells us ice conditions were the best they've been in
years, however the multiple rainstorms that rolled in this winter did
cause the Kennebecasis River to rise, which resulting in fishing
enthusiasts losing shoreline use for about two weeks this season. He
says the number of smelt has been down but their numbers tend to pick up
around this time of the year.
The shacks have to come off of the ice by March 15.
