It's believed shredded lettuce distributed by Freshpoint is the cause of a new
confirmed case of E. coli in the province.
There is an investigation underway to
find the source.
Lab results show there's a link with six other cases already
reported.
Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Eilish Cleary says you should throw
the outer leaves of lettuce and cabbage away, then remove the remaining leaves
and thoroughly rinse them in water for about 30 seconds before eating.
