New Vaccine Launched To Better Protect Young Children And Infants

Young children and infants in the Province are being offered a new publicly funded pneumococcal vaccine as part of improvements to the provincial childhood immunization program.
Health Minister Mary Schryer announced today. Invasive pneumococcal disease is a serious bacterial infection commonly associated with severe respiratory tract infections

The vaccine is publicly funded for children who are eight weeks to 12 months old and is available to children and infants, starting Thursday, July 1.
