Calais Regional Hospital Lab Receives Certification

The Calais Regional Hospital Laboratory announced that they have successfully passed the State of Maine survey for CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) certification, following an onsite inspection.
During the inspection process, surveyors examine the laboratory's records and quality control procedures, staff qualifications, the laboratory's equipment, facilities, safety program and record, as well as the overall management of the laboratory.

The CRH Laboratory processes over 220,000 tests a year.










The laboratory, under the direction of Jake Thayer, MT and overseen by Dr. Rick Riemersma, Laboratory staff also includes medical technologists Billie-Jo Leighton, Megan Laplant, Kimberley Doughty, Laura Chadwick, Tara Cooke, Elaine Mockler, Avis Miller and Mark Kidder; phlebotomists Patty Lindsay, Becky Thornton-Harriman, Pauline Beach and Avis Miller.
