It took 1.4 million working hours and at peak times, a workforce of 2300 people but, the maintenance project at the Irving Oil Refinery is finished. Spokesperson Lesley MacLeod tells Tide News, the $220-million dollar project is a combined maintainence and investment in the facility.
MacLeod adds this project is the largest of its kind for the refinery and there was no lost time during the project due to injury.
