The Canadian Red Cross will honour Diane Ganong of St. Stephen with its 2009 Humanitarian Award during a fund-raising dinner tonight in St John. Ganong is being recognized for her volunteer work in the community, serving on numerous boards Ganong also served as president of UNICEF Canada.
Leah Secord, a high school student from Saint John will receive the Young Humanitarian Award from the Red Cross for her dedication to helping others. She is raising funds to build a school in Africa and is active in her school's bullying prevention program and volunteers in her community.Award presentations and acceptance speeches is between 8:15 - 9:00 p.m. at the Delta Brunswick.
