A Family Loses Home Due To Fire
A family of four is left without a home due to a fire over the weekend in Andersonville. Brian Gardner Fire Chief of Lawrence Station tells Tide news the fire started between 11:00 and 11:30 Sunday morning. He says nobody was home at the time of the blaze. Fire department from Moores Mills assisted to try and safe the mobile home. Gardner adds the fire started from a wood stove and was a total loss.
Nursing Home workers Want Deal Finalized
Nursing home workers are asking the provincial government to step forward and finalize a tentive deal they been asking for. Since march 12th they been without a contract and Minerva Porelle President of Lincourt nursing home tells tide news they are not asking for much. Porelle adds they are asking for a fair wage, top up on maternity leave and benifits for employees.
Porelle says Cupe local 3392 says a deal is a deal and they want there's finalized. Workers from 46 nursing homes lobbied their MLA offices around the province yesterday asking them to bring their issue to the Legislature. Porelle adds if this does not go through their looking at further action.
