Members of St Stephen Citizen On Patrol are going to be conducting speed monitoring in St Stephen and area over the next couple of weeks.
The RCMP will be providing the volunteer group use of the RCMP portable roadside system, which displays the speed of approaching vehicles.
It will be placed, near our local St Stephen and area schools, to promote “Back to School Awareness”.
Over the next few weeks residents will see the sign in various place around town as Citizen On Patrol members through the use of the roadside system, will be collecting and documenting speeds, time of day and number of vehicles.
This initiative will assist the RCMP in determining where the police should be focusing enforcement. This would be another example of the value of the Citizens on Patrol Program and the citizens who have committed themselves to it.
