An apartment building being evacuated after a fire broke out in one of the units.
The Saint John Fire Department says there was heavy smoke pouring out of a third floor
apartment on Davenport Avenue when they arrived. They found a fire in
the back of the home, possibly in a bedroom.
While
fire crews kept the fire from spreading, the room is heavily damaged by
fire and the rest of the apartment has major smoke and water damage. The
building itself has slight smoke and water damage.
The people
living in the apartment where the fire started are displaced for a while
until the apartment is fixed. No word on the cause of the blaze.
