One man is lucky to be alive after his car rolled over several times to avoid hitting a moose. Deputy Tom Chambers of Calais was answering to a complaint when he suddenly lost control of his car trying to miss hitting the animal. Sheriff Donnie Smith tells Tide news chambers had been in the car for over an hour before emergency officials were able to remove him. The Sheriff says he was transported to Calais hospital then later transported to eastern Maine medical center. He says the accident happen around 6:00 last evening when he was travelling east on route 214. Smith says he is recovering well.
