Minister of Veteran’s Affairs Greg Thompson and Fredericton MLA and Minister of Business New Brunswick Greg Byrne will take part in ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Don Messer today at the giant fiddle in Harvey Station.
Canada’s most famous fiddler, Don Messer was born and raised in Tweedside, just outside Harvey Station, and went on to have a lengthy musical career which included the long-running television series Don Messer’s Jubilee.
The official ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m. at the giant fiddle on Route 3 in the village.
